Mobile Carbon Storage: The longer wooden packaging and pallets are used, the longer the carbon sequestered from the atmosphere by trees and bound in the wood remains stored. At the end of this primary use, the carbon remains bound for a long time as part of the recurring use cascade in the form of chipboard blocks for pallets and particleboard for the construction and furniture sectors. Only during thermal recycling is the carbon bound in the wood released again.
